Stand Alone Power Systems design and install course

Required for SAA accreditation for off-grid PV & battery systems.

Overview

Gain the skills to design and install Stand-alone power systems (off-grid) through a comprehensive training program. This course offers flexible learning with self-paced on-line study and hands-on practical installations. It provides a clear pathway to SPS Accreditation with SAA, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Who should do this course?

This course is ideal for licenced electricians, apprentices, and renewable energy professionals seeking SPS accreditation with SAA. Electrical engineers can gain recognition in solar design, while non-electricians can follow a structured pathway to design accreditation. Installation units are exclusively for licensed electricians.

Course outline

This course provides the skills to understand site surveys, energy audits, design, install, set up, and test off-grid / Stand Alone Power Systems and the associated equipment.

This course comprises the following nationally accredited units of competencies:

  • UEERE0055 Conduct site survey for Conduct site survey for off-grid photovoltaic/generating set systems.
  • UEERE0063 Design off-grid photovoltaic/generating set systems.
  • UEERE0079 Design grid-connected battery storage systems.

It is a requirement that to undertake this course, you MUST already hold a current unrestricted electrical licence issued in an Australian state or territory.

Mandatory prerequisites

NOTE: This course requires 2 mandatory prerequisite units to be completed. The prerequisite units are:
